The monthly dapivirine ring

IPM’s dapivirine vaginal ring is designed to give women a discreet, long-acting method they can use to help protect themselves against HIV on their own terms. Women insert the flexible ring and leave it in place for a month. Following two Phase III clinical trials (The Ring Study and ASPIRE) that found the ring reduces women’s HIV risk, IPM began taking steps toward potentially making the product available in sub-Saharan Africa, where the epidemic has hit hardest.
