Pamela W. Barnes, MBA

Ms. Barnes is a consultant on global health and development issues with more than 30 years of management experience leading reproductive health and infectious diseases organizations. Most recently, she served as president and chief executive officer of EngenderHealth, where she undertook a major strategic planning initiative and oversaw family planning, maternal health, and HIV/AIDS programs in 27 countries across Africa and Asia.

Previously, Ms. Barnes was president and chief executive officer at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. She was recently the co-leader of a global partnership organized by United Nations agencies and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to address sexual violence against girls. Ms. Barnes is the current chair of the board of directors of the nonprofit Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE). She has also held executive positions at the International Trachoma Initiative and Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic in New York.

A former Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, Ms. Barnes worked for more than 20 years in investment management and corporate finance for GTE and RCA Corporations. She holds a BS degree in economics from Marymount College and an MBA from Fordham University.
