Maximina Jokonya, BS

Ms. Jokonya is the HER Voice Fund coordinator for Y+ Global. Previously, she was a Zvandiri mentor for Africaid as part of a US government-funded DREAMS Innovation Challenge project in Mutare District in Zimbabwe.

Ms. Jokonya’s work is informed by her experience being born with HIV, and her passion for working with adolescents and young women who are infected and affected by HIV. She is a Women Deliver Young Leader, Community Advisory Board (CAB) member of the University of Zimbabwe–University of California San Francisco (UZ-UCSF) Collaborative Research Program, and a member of the community delegation to the Global Fund. She recently completed the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship in civil leadership. 

Ms. Jokonya holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in psychology and a diploma in counselling from Women’s University in Africa, based in Zimbabwe.
