Lebogang Motsumi

Ms. Motsumi is an HIV activist, coach and public speaker in South Africa who advocates for women’s empowerment and sexual and reproductive health. She also serves as program assistant at the Centre for Communication Impact, which implements health communications and behavior change programs.

As an ambassador for the Zazi campaign and in her previous work with the Sibusiso Leope Education Foundation, she shares her story as a young woman living with HIV to engage and inspire young people — especially young women and girls — to stay in school, protect their health and make positive choices for their futures.

Ms. Motsumi serves on multiple advisory panels focused on ensuring youth sexual reproductive health and rights, including the youth advisory board for the African Union’s sexual and reproductive health and rights program and the youth advisory panel of the United Nations Population Fund. She also chairs the HIV/AIDS thematic area of the African Youth and Adolescents Network.
