Beth Romach, PhD
Dr. Romach is the global head of Non-Clinical Safety at ViiV Healthcare, where she develops safety evaluation strategies and provides comprehensive toxicological interpretations in support of global development and registration of HIV treatment candidates.
With two decades of expertise, Dr. Romach leads non-clinical safety support across ViiV’s portfolio, from early discovery to marketing. Prior to ViiV, she spent over 15 years at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), most recently as vice president of Non-Clinical Safety Assessment. In this role, she provided non-clinical safety expertise to support the development of drugs to treat metabolic and infectious diseases. Dr. Romach previously directed GSK’s Safety Assessment team based in Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina, overseeing scientific and human resources for the team’s toxicology, pathology and investigative functions. She also managed RTP-based staff of GSK’s World Wide Nonclinical Safety Projects group.
Dr. Romach holds a PhD in biological sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a board-certified toxicologist.
