The discussion will be moderated by Bethany Holt, Director and Co-Founder of the Initiative for Multipurpose Prevention Technologies and Executive Director and Founder of CAMI Health.

Meet the Panelists
Bethany Holt (Moderator), CAMI Health – Sacramento, CA
Dr. Bethany Young Holt is the Director and Co-Founder of the IMPT (Initiative for Multipurpose Prevention Technologies) as well as the Executive Director and Founder of CAMI Health, an organization dedicated to women’s health and empowerment. As the Director of the IMPT, Dr. Holt has engineered the first Collective Impact Collaboration that bridges HIV, STI and family planning research and development fields to advance a new arena for comprehensive prevention. Dr. Holt’s background is in sexual and reproductive health epidemiology and prevention in the U.S. and Africa, including multi-level analyses, social determinants of health, and microbicide acceptability studies.
Ruth Merkatz, Population Council – New York
Dr. Ruth Merkatz is the Director of Clinical Development for the Population Council's Reproductive Health program. Dr. Merkatz oversees development of the Council’s reproductive health products and organizes and oversees large-scale clinical trials required for the regulatory review process. Dr. Merkatz collaborates with constituents from different phases of drug development—from principal investigators at clinical trial sites to donor partners, statisticians, and Council investigators—to achieve the shared goal of bringing innovative products to markets.
Zeda Rosenberg, IPM – Washington, DC
Dr. Zeda Rosenberg is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM), a nonprofit dedicated to developing new HIV prevention, and sexual and reproductive health products for women. Under Dr. Rosenberg’s vision, leadership and strategic direction, IPM developed the monthly dapivirine ring—the first long-acting product and first microbicide clinically shown to reduce HIV risk—and secured support from donors and partners worldwide to develop a robust pipeline of promising HIV prevention products.
